“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” John Wesley
“The church changes the world not by making converts but by making disciples.” John Wesley
The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. Click here to Learn More
Open Our Hearts
We believe that living a life inspired by God’s love compels us to offer help, hope, and healing to those looking for more meaning in their lives.
Open Our Minds
We believe God’s grace is available to all people, no matter where you’re from, what you look like, or who you love.
Open Our Doors
We believe in welcoming others into our lives, but also in taking action outside the walls of the church to serve our neighbors, next door and around the world.
Message from the Pastor
At Burlington United Methodist we aspire to grow disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. we don’t just live with grace, we live IN grace. Grace can be defined as the love and mercy given to us by god because God wants us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it. “For by grace you have been save through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God — not the result of works, so that not one may boast” Ephesians 2:8-9.
As we grow in our faith, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the same grace, love and mercy to all people. As our relationship with God grows, so does our relationship with each other and the community at large. At Burlington United Methodist you will experience a coming home of sorts. You are accepted, you are loved and you are a beautiful child of the Lord.
Through our worship, bible study and outreach programs, as well as our children, women and small groups you will find encouragement, healing hope and support. ALL people are invited to come learn, grow and experience God’s love through his family as we strive to grow disciples. Living in Grace and Serving in Love.
